Friendship Centers of Emmet County | Council on Aging
Essential services such as Meals on Wheels are available to area residents through the Council on Aging (COA), funded by Area Agency on Aging (AAA). COA is a 501(c)3 organization that provides services to senior citizens by utilizing state and federal tax dollars through the Older Americans Act. In the State of Michigan these dollars are distributed to COAs through the AAA. There are 16 AAAs in Michigan. Our organization falls in region ten, which consists of Emmet, Charlevoix, Antrim, Grand Traverse, Benzie, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford counties. Region ten’s AAA office is located in Traverse City. The link above provides access to the AAA organization serving Emmet County and the Petoskey area.

United Way Michigan
Approximately 60 local United Way organizations represent the largest network of non-governmental service providers and service funders in Michigan, collectively raising and distributing over $160 million dollars to support local health and human service organizations. The high cost of health insurance and the lack of coverage have created a barrier for patients to access their physician or provider.
